Orenburg Medical University gathered neurologists of the country on its site

On July 10, the interregional scientific and practical conference "Neurology: Innovations and Practice" was held at the OrGMU Scientific and Educational center. It was organized by the Department of Neurology, Medical Genetics of the University and the Orenburg Regional Clinical Hospital named after V.I. Voynov. The conference featured speakers from Orenburg, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Ufa.

The participants were greeted by a senior lecturer at the Department of Neurology and Medical Genetics of OrGMU, head of the Neurological department for Patients with Acute Cerebrovascular Accident at the Regional Vascular Center (ONMC RSC) at the Orenburg Regional Clinical Hospital named after V.I. Voynov, chief freelance neurologist at the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg RegionSergey Velmeikin. He thanked the participants for their interest in the event and outlined the key topics of the conference.

The participants prepared 15 reports, the key issues of which were: continuity of stroke rehabilitation: how to build a single route from the acute phase to the outpatient stage; interdisciplinary interaction in the rehabilitation and treatment of neurological pathology; diagnosis and treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (difficulties of early detection and modern pathogenetic therapy); orphan diseases and targeted therapy.

Leading experts from the region shared key approaches to the treatment of severe neurological diseases. Sergey Velmeikin presented the clinical results of the use of pegylated interferon in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, focusing on the effectiveness and tolerability of the drug.

Alexander Chirkov, an assistant at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at OrGMU, Head of the Intensive Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit for patients with Cancer at the V.I. Voynov RC Hospital, chief freelance angioeducologist at the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg Region, Candidate of Medical Sciences, reviewed in detail the acute period of stroke, complications and correction algorithms.

Egor Grankin, Assistant Professor at the Department of Neurology and Medical Genetics, Head of the Department of Pediatric Neuropsychiatry at the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, Chief freelance Pediatric Neurologist at the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg Region, highlighted the treatment of Duchenne myodystrophy. A separate important aspect of his report was the problem of continuity of medical care during the transition of patients from the pediatric service to the adult network, which makes it possible to preserve the achieved results of therapy.

Head of the Department of Neurology at Bashkir State Medical University, Chief Freelance Neurologist at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, MDMansur Kutlubaev considered such a problem as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The speaker presented modern diagnostic criteria and methods of pathogenetic therapy of the disease.

Chairman of the St. Petersburg Society of Rehabilitation Medicine, Head of the Medical Rehabilitation Center, Head of the Department of Early Rehabilitation at St. Petersburg City Hospital No. 38, MDVitaliy Kovalchuk presented a system of continuous management of stroke patients at all stages of rehabilitation.

The participants showed an active interest in the topics raised. Colleagues shared their knowledge and exchanged practical experience.
