We conducted a school with an interactive master class for doctors and parents of patients with cystic fibrosis

On September 14, an educational event was held at the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital (CSTO), organized and conducted by the Department of Pediatrics of the OrGMU and the National Medical Research Center of the OM in the field of "pulmonology".

The main goal of the event is to create a bridge between the medical community and patient families, break down barriers of misunderstanding and increase treatment commitment. It brought together pulmonologists, nutritionists, pediatricians and parents of patients to jointly find solutions to issues of therapy and quality of life. Residents, staff of the Department of Pediatrics and CSTO doctors actively participated in it. Igor Voropaev, the chief physician of the hospital, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

A scientific and practical conference, an interactive master class for parents, and a clinical analysis of severe cases were held. The scientific director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center, Professor of the Department of Pediatrics at the OrGMU, Doctor of Medical Sciences Margarita Skachkova, Head of the Pulmonology Department of the National Research Medical Center for Children's Health of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, a pulmonologist of the highest category, Doctor of Medical Sciences, spoke at the conference and for doctors.Olga Simonova and Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Nutrition for Healthy and Sick Children, Pediatrician at the National Research Medical Center for Children's Health of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Medical SciencesInna Sokolov.

As part of the interactive master class, a workshop on nutritional support was held for parents with the preparation of a specialized menu and an analysis of the strategy for selecting products for patients; issues of respiratory gymnastics and drainage, which can be adapted to the child's age in order to turn treatment into a game, were discussed. In addition, a clinical examination of serious patients took place, which is especially important for residents.

Olga Simonova emphasized the high level of organization and assistance using advanced technologies in the management of sick children with cystic fibrosis in the Orenburg region and expressed her wish for further close cooperation.
