OrGMU launched a new tradition: the first Lebedkov Readings were held

For the first time, a scientific and practical conference for residents, the Lebedkov Readings, was held at the Department of Pediatrics of Orenburg State Medical University. The event was timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the formation of the Faculty of Advanced Medical Training (transformed into the Institute of Professional Education and the Department of Continuing Medical Education and Regional Health Development) and the department itself.

The name of the conference is a tribute to the memory of Svetlana Evgenievna Lebedkova, an Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, who stood at the origins of the department and devoted her professional career to pediatric cardiology. It was also symbolic that the first Lebedkov readings fell on Cardiologist's Day.

The event was attended by first-year residents of pediatrics and neonatology. Young specialists presented the results of their research on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of rare and severe diseases in children.

Practitioners came to support the novice colleagues, including Igor Voropaev, the chief pediatric oncologist of the region and head of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. Sixth-year students of the pediatric faculty were also present in the hall. The discussion of the reports took place in an active format: leading experts gave comments and recommendations on the submitted works.
