The interregional scientific and practical conference "Narcology in service to the Fatherland: new approaches and strategies" has started at OrGMU

It is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the narcological service of the region. The event brought together leading industry experts to discuss current challenges in the country's drug treatment system and ways to develop it. The conference is attended by experts from the Orenburg Regional Clinical Narcological Dispensary, the V.P. Serbsky National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Narcology, the Kirov Regional Narcological Dispensary, the V.M. Bekhterev National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as other specialized institutions.

The opening ceremony was attended by government representatives: Larisa Boyarskaya, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Orenburg Region for Social Policy, Andrey Shatilov, Minister of Health of the region, and Andrey Shevchenko, Senator from the Orenburg Region.

Igor Miroshnichenko, Rector of OrGMU, together with his colleagues, presented letters of thanks to the specialists of the narcological service for their many years of work and significant contribution to the development of the public assistance system.

Today, on the first day of the event, reports on the most pressing topics are being discussed: from the modernization of drug treatment and work with CBT participants to addiction therapy, adolescent morbidity and risk factors for relapse. Tomorrow, the conference participants will visit the inpatient departments of the Orenburg Regional Clinical Narcological Dispensary to see how the processes are built in practice. The day will end with an analysis of real clinical cases at the OrGMU scientific and educational center.
